When I was in 8th grade, I started a band called Kids On Lyle with my best friend Lucas. Kids On Lyle recordings went like this:

1. I would play power chords (which i just learned) to the tune of garbage
2. Lucas made up words off the top of his head.

Lucas’s rants are something to behold, the absolute pure stream of consciousness monologues of a hormonal 13 year old boy. Additionally, young Lucas was the weirdest person I ever met. He would frequently use the songs as a space for viciously insulting people who he thought had wronged him (saying they looked like a computer mouse that needs to be slapped "around the house", for example), and his references to songs and TV are so bizarre and confused and multi layered it’s taken me years to decode them. I gave our tape to my 8th grade spanish teacher and he got drunk in a parked car with his friends listening to it.
